Professional Gambling in Pennsylvania

In 2009 PA Senate Bill 711 legalized table games (poker, black jack) at casinos.  The PA House Roll Call on the motion by Rep. Bryan Cutler (R) on December 14, 2009 to approve more gambling .  The motion passed 107 to 84 in the House on December 14, 2009.  [History, Amendments & Comments]The vote was 107 in favor, 84 against, and 11 not voting. (House Roll Call).  It was a close vote and if you are from District 66 and this concerns you then you might be wondering how your district voted on this issue.

According to the official PA House roll call http://www.pennsylvaniavotes.org/RollCall.aspx?ID=427316 our own District 66 took the easy way out and did not cast a vote on this issue.

In my humble opinion (IMHO), District 66 needs a Representative who has strong moral courage and will take a stand against lowering the moral standards of Pennsylvania.  We do not need professional gamblers changing our culture in this way.

It’s been uncovered that Rep. Sam Smith from the 66th district has accepted lobby money from the casino/gambling industry. This could explain his position on the above issue.
